The Beauty of Penmanship

I occasionally lament the loss of writing instruction in most of today’s schools. Children today in most school districts across the country learn how to print – and nothing more.
 There is also the abject loss of beauty that we face, and the fact that children of today will not be able to read anything written by their forefathers.

There is quite a bit of research on the larger developmental benefits of learning cursive. Which is often left out or ignored in the discussions of this choice – which focus on time to instruct at the expense of standardized exam prep. Not to mention the knowledge acquisition component related to writing and note taking that is lost when using a keyboard
